I chose these first two pictures/quotes to represent my belief that education should be about making us better people, making us care more about humanity and society so that we create generations that want to build a fairer, happier, healthier world for themselves and their children to live in.
This next picture/quote represents my drive to teach critical thinking so that students will be able to decide for themselves that is right, what is correct, and to be able to tell what parts of information they receive are true, what parts false, and what parts are opinion.
This next picture/quote represents my love of knowledge, of learning, and wanting to impart that love, that passion into my students so that they grow up always wanting to learn more, to keep up with our evolving world and to further their passions and interests.
This next picture/quote is related to the last one, but reflects my desire to be one of those teachers that creates a memorable learning experience for their students, to have them imbibe that experience into a love of education and a desire for growth and knowledge.
This next picture/quote represents my passion to help the students that have the most trouble learning, as a neurodivergent human who grew up in a school era where they didn’t try to help students who don’t learn in the typical lecture fashion I have a drive to help those that learn in different ways and who have different ways of representing their learning so that everyone has the best opportunity to learn and grow in their education.
This last picture/quote represents how through my university education program I have learned the benefits of involving students in the learning whether through hands on activities or through ones that make you think rather than simply telling you the answer. These richer lessons and activities help students to learn and remember and combined with my desire to be as good a teacher as possible I hope to help students both learn and retain their knowledge.
